Flamingo Park Neighborhood Association

Welcome To Our Community

The Flamingo Park Neighborhood Association is dedicated to improving our community and especially our beloved park. We’re working to utilize the public park bond to create a safer, more enjoyable space for our children and families.

Flamingo Park Improvement

Fort Lauderdale is currently spending money from a 2016 bond program aimed at enhancing all city parks, with an allocation of $940 million specifically set aside for improvements at Flamingo Park. However, it is concerning that over the past year, there has been no visible progress in utilizing these funds for our beloved park. To stay informed and engaged, we encourage you to explore the links provided for an overview of the Flamingo Park project, as well as the main page detailing the Parks Bond initiative. As we look ahead, it is essential for us to advocate for the needs of our park. By coming together as a community and sharing our aspirations for Flamingo Park, we can amplify our voices and drive meaningful change. Let us not only seek updates on the plan, but also champion innovative ideas that can elevate our park’s facilities and recreational opportunities. Together, we can transform Flamingo Park into a vibrant gathering place for families, a playground for children, and a space where cherished memories are created.

The project is approaching the final stages of Phase 4 of implementation, with the site plan now completed for all 39 parks. However, the new site plan for Flamingo Park leaves much to be desired, and a recent forum yielded little in the way of new information. Concerns were raised about potential funding shortfalls that could hinder the park’s redevelopment, especially since the design has remained unchanged for over a year and a half. It is essential for us to connect with our City Commissioner, Ben Sorenson, to ensure that our park redevelopment receives the attention it truly deserves. As we move forward, community engagement is vital. We encourage residents to participate in upcoming meetings and voice their ideas for improvements. Together, we can advocate for a vibrant and revitalized Flamingo Park that embodies the spirit of our neighborhood and serves as a welcoming space for all families.
